Recent Changes
UBC IT Okanagan is working to reduce the number of accounts and logins students require to access campus services. Starting August 30, students will no longer use a Novell username/password to access computers in the library or instructional computer labs. Instead, students will use their CWL based authentication.
Student Printing and the Study Room Booking System have also be updated to use CWL authentication.
Overview
The UBC Campus-Wide Login (CWL) is the primary authentication system for students in the Okanagan. This login provides a single account to access University-wide applications, email, computer workstations, and Microsoft software.
To access some of the various accounts, there are slight variations in usernames used to authenticate. Please refer to the instructions below.
UBC Campus-Wide Login (CWL)
The Campus-Wide Login (CWL) system provides access to many of the University’s online systems, such as the Student Service Centre, Canvas, Study Room Booking and other applications.
Login Format:
Username: CWL
Password: CWL Password
UBC Computer Login (EAD)
The UBC Computer Login (EAD) provides access to Library and Computer Lab workstations, Student Printing, and UBC Student and Alumni Email (SAMail).
Login Format:
Username: CWL.stu
Password: CWL Password
Microsoft 365 Login (O365)
The Microsoft 365 Login provides access to a range of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote. It also provides access to MS Teams and secure file storage on OneDrive.
Login Format:
Username: CWL@student.ubc.ca
Password: CWL Password
