Overview

UBC Okanagan IT (UBCOIT) is available to support your Audio Visual needs for on-campus events. We will help identify your AV needs and provide comprehensive, hands-on training and guidance for your event, big or small.

  • A limited selection of equipment is available for use by faculty and staff

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Available to UBC faculty and staff
  • Event must be held on the UBC Okanagan campus; off-site event support is not available

Costs

Currently, UBCOIT consultation, support and equipment is available for use at no cost for active UBC faculty and staff

  • Equipment is also available for loan at no cost to the UBCO community from UBCO Studios Equipment Lending
  • AV Support for Grad Thesis Defence
    • UBC Okanagan IT has moved away from in person AV support for thesis defenses.
    • Detailed AV instructions for each meeting room are now available on the Facilities Planning Bookable Meeting Rooms site under “More Info” HERE.
    • UBC IT AV support is available:
      • In advance of the defence, UBC Okanagan IT/AV is happy to meet with supervisors or Admin to provide training on the use of the videoconference equipment.  You can Request Desktop or AV Support to book training/orientation to the equipment
      • On the day of the defence, if IT/AV assistance is required, please contact the Service Centre for time-sensitive support.

Maintenance and updating of event gear x
On-Campus Emergency support, during normal business hours x
Notify UBCO IT that support is required, as early as possible x
Receive training and information required to operate AV equipment for event x
Test equipment in advance of event, to ensure operation x
Rent or purchase of additional equipment as needed, if equipment needs exceed UBCO’s inventory x
