We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Garth Evans August 3, 2026 in Calgary, Alberta. Garth joined UBC in January 2012 and over thirteen years built something genuinely remarkable here. Before his work in emerging media, he spent years as the primary AV and technology support for the Southern Medical Program (SMP), where he became something of a legend. The SMP community adored him.
