Microsoft recently announced the end-of-life date for Windows 10 editions as October 14, 2025. After this date, no further feature updates or security patches will be available for Windows 10. UBC IT is now planning for the upgrade to Windows 11, Microsoft’s current operating system offering.

UBCO IT Voice Services will be implementing necessary changes to the voicemail system on November 16, 2022. Users with Hot Desk telephone services will be impacted. UBCO IT requests that Hot Desk telephone service users prepare for this change by ensuring they know their voicemail passcode.

Starting March 1, centrally managed Windows 10 devices (version 1909 and older) at UBC Okanagan will receive the latest version of Windows 10 (21H2). Once updates are available, you will have up to two weeks to restart your device.

To stay compliant with UBC’s information security standards, macOS needs to be updated to at least macOS Catalina. Starting November 22, centrally managed Mac desktops and laptops at UBC Okanagan will receive notifications in the lower right-hand corner of their screen when updates are available.
